Well my classes are going well so far. I don't really have a specific thing to post about but I just thought I would add the photos I've taken recently. So yeah, here ya go!
| This is one of the main streets by the KU campus. There are a lot of restaurants/coffee shops here. When I go out with friends and we just want to go somewhere close, this is the street we usually come to. |
| Another view with one of the MANY 7-11's. When I miss Winnipeg, I will go there for a slurpee. :) |
Okay, so one super awesome thing about Seoul is their takeout. Pretty much all of the restaurants here will deliver their food to your house! My roommates and I did this once (my friend Nana called because she can speak Korean really well) and it was amazing! The delivery guys ride little scooters so the food came to our door in 5 minutes (and it was nice and hot!). I don't even think there is an extra cost for ordering deliver: when we ordered, the total was still only 5000 won (like $5).
| EVEN MCDONALDS DOES THIS!!! Lol like how lazy can you be? |
| Big crosswalk. I walk up the street on the top-right to get up to my dorm. I like how they let you cross the street diagonally instead of having to cross to one side and then again after. |
| I went for a second picture, and by pure chance I took a picture of an R8!!! :D |
Streetfood is another big thing in Seoul. Everywhere you go there is a handful of streetfood vendors. They sell things like deokbeoki (spicy rice cake noodle things), sweet cookie/baking things, and a lot of other things I don't remember at the moment. I haven't actually tried any yet, but I think I will have to eventually. Here are some pics of some vendors close to KU. (The pictures are of bad quality because I was also walking while taking them, okay?)
| This one is in the shape of a fish, but it is actually like a pastry with a sweet red bean paste inside. (Don't think like kidney sort of beans. They are sweet and used in a lot of Korean desserts.) |
| Lol even chicken out of a truck. |
| She was making little cookie ball things. It smelled SO good. |
As (I think) I posted about before: convenience stores here are awesome. They have a lot of food that you can just grab and eat on the go. So this past Thursday, when I was too lazy and Dutch to walk all the way down the hill for lunch, I decided to grab a 900 won (less than 90 cents) kimbap triangle. I think in Korean they call it a "sambak kimbap" (literally meaning triangle kimbap). Kimbap is like sushi, but there is no raw fish.
| I got this red one. I didn't know which flavour it was because it's all in Korean. There was also blue and yellow to choose from. |
| And here is the inside. |
It was really good! Turns out the middle part was like a chicken and sauce sort of thing that makes me think the flavour was BBQ chicken lol.
So yeah. Sorry this is kinda a random post. Nothing too exciting happened lately, unless you want me to tell you about what I read about in my molecular biology textbook. Miss you all! Thanks for reading!
Wow definitely have to get some delivery McDonalds right about now lol. Also it looks so crazy with all the lines for crosswalks! Ah I want to visit you!!
ReplyDeleteLol it's a very efficient way to cross the street! And you should Cass! It is so much fun here! :D
DeleteI love all the options for you when your lazy! and the never ending food options!
