Seoul Bucketlist

There are a lot of things to do and see in Seoul, but these are main attractions/ activities that I want to experience during my trip. Hopefully I will be able to cross them all off my list!

1. Eat a lot of Korean food! 

I'm sure this won't be too hard as eating at restaurants there is pretty cheap and there is street galore! I will try to be as adventurous as possible but I'm not going to guarantee I will eat something that has tentacles in it!

2. Be able to order a meal in Korean

This is more of a goal, I guess, but something I want to do before I leave nonetheless. Hopefully I can taking a Korean language course will help. 

3. Take the subway

Seoul has an excellent subway system that I'm sure I will be using a lot! They also have a good transit system too, but the subway just seems more fun to me.

4. Go to Hongdae

A sort of artsy-fartsy, music-centred area in Seoul. Also home to the EatYourKimchi studio (run by a Canadian couple who became Youtube famous for their videos about Korean music and culture)!

5. Norebang

AKA: karaoke! A favourite activity of many Koreans. I'll post pictures but don't expect a video. :P

6. Jimjilbang

Jimjilbang, or Korean spas, are supposed to be everywhere in Seoul. Each have many hot tubs and steams rooms to help one relax after studying for midterms.

7. Cheongyecheon Creek

A 5.8km creek that runs right through the middle of the city. It was a project completed in 2005 as an urban renewal project that has become a local attraction.

8. Experience Korean history

-go to a palace: Deoksugung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and/or Changdeokgung Palace

-see (and possibly try on) a hanbok (traditional Korean dress)

9. Go to Gangnam

The upper class area of Seoul, made world famous by PSY's song Gangnam Style.

10. Lotte World

A theme park right in the middle of the city? Sign me up!

11. Myeongdong

A major shopping area in the city.
