For our last Friday event, our Itaewon group went to the Cherry Blossom Festival, which was held near the Seoul National Assembly Building across the Han river. They had a street blocked off so people could take a stroll and enjoy all the wonderful flowers. Because it had been a little "chilly" the past couple days (but not the sort of "chilly" you guys are having in Canada) not all of the flowers were blooming, but it was still beautiful nonetheless. Here are some of the pictures I took:

Not Cherry Blossoms, but still pretty.

Here you can see the street lined with the cherry blossom trees. If the weather had been nicer I think they all would be blooming and make this picture more dramatic.

You can see the Namsan Tower on the top of the hill far away.
After we walked the street our group had a picnic of the grass (mandu and fried chicken lol) and just hung out for a while. It made for a really nice and relaxing afternoon! Thanks for reading everyone! Miss you and hope it starts getting warmer for you all!
ReplyDeleteAre'nt those cherry trees a beautiful sight!I think we have about the same climate the trees are in full bloom here as well.
Forgot to thank you for the lovely PC you sent me which I'm proudly displaying on my fridge.
Love you, Grammy
Yay! I'm glad you received my postcard!
DeleteBack home this morning, we are having the snow festival :( ; that's right, it's snowing again. You picked a good winter / spring to be away. Maybe by the time you come home in June spring will be here.
ReplyDeleteHahah awe that is so sad. I am sad for you, but happy I am not there. I too hope that the snow is gone when I get back. If it is not, then I will not come home :P
